York has some of the best student media in the country - no exaggeration. No doubt at some point in your first week you will encounter both of the campus newspapers and will see adverts for URY (student radio), YSTV (Student TV), and The Yorker (online news service). These are all run by people who would love to see you get involved. All of them will be available to sign up at Freshers’ Fair, and most will be holding meetings in week 2 for Freshers.
